National Equity Ltd is a privately held investment banking company, established in 1984 as the investment vehicle for its founders Charles St Clair Brown and Keith Gosling. National Equity is a facilitator, stakeholder, mezzanine financier, venture capitalist and principal of mergers, acquisitions and corporate reconstructions. It is also a commercial property manager and consultant.

National Equity Ltd's first significant transaction was the formation of Growthlink Holdings Ltd and the acquisition of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company of NZ Ltd in 1984. National Equity took Metropolitan Life public (Met Life Group Ltd) and sold the majority stake to FAI insurance in 1988.

In 1991 National Equity Ltd formed Professional Service Brokers Ltd and successfully bid for and privatised the Government Supply Brokerage Corporation (Government Stores Board) after a competitive tender process managed by the NZ Government Treasury Department.

National Equity Ltd remains the principal partner in the PSB Group and has investments in a wide range of trading companies including technology companies such as Argent Networks. National Equity alone provides strategic advice and consultancy services to many companies and organisations in the commercial and residential property sector throughout NZ.
